Trash pick-up is each Friday. Trash and recycling bins need to be on the curb by 7 a.m.
On holiday weeks trash pick up is on Saturday (i.e. Memorial Day pushes trash pick up day back from Friday until Saturday). Up to 4 cubic yards of "bulky trash" (items that do not fit into either a trash or recycling bin) are also picked up each Friday.

Rolling Ridge hosts garage sales twice a year, in the spring and fall. Dates are determined by the Social Committee and posted to the web site and Facebook page. Individual garage sales at other times of the year are not allowed.
The City of Murphy determines watering schedules and restrictions. Changes are made periodically. Please check the City's website for current schedules and restrictions:
Wood Fence Stain Colors for all phases: Clear or Natural Walnut, Natural Cedar, or Walnut by “Gray-a-Way”. Any changes from the existing color of the fence require ACC approval.
The minimum standards for roofing are for a twenty-five year, 240 lb shingle that is of a color similar to weathered wood, antique slate, oxford gray or of any similar color. Any changes from the existing shingles require ACC approval.
Changes to Property
Anyone wishing to make external changes to their property must meet the association requirements for modifications and submit an application before initiating work. These changes include (but are not limited too) fencing changes, gates, pools, pergolas/gazebos/patio covers, driveway extensions and other concrete pads, landscape, storage buildings, swimming pools and hot tubs.

Murphy City Council is comprised of a Mayor and 6 Councilmembers. There are no districts and each Councilmember is "at large", representing all residents of the city.
Council meetings are held at City Hall in Council Chambers on the first and third Tuesdays of each month at 6:00 p.m.
